Sam is the result of blending two animals that can never be bred again. Sam's sire, Asa, died during the Winter of 2002, and when we saw Sam we knew he had left us a prize!

Sam has his daddy's person-ality, sweet and friendly. He's long like Asa, but has Splish's (that's what we call her) strong legs and feet. The coloring was more than we could have asked for, now let's see how he stacks up as he grows.

Sam has great legs and feet, though we'd like to see him tighter at the elbow. He has an impressive width to his escutcheon and his barrel, which he is passing on to his kids. As he ages he impresses us more and more with his dairiness, his power, and with his general conformation. His first freshening daughter has a well attached udder, but we know that is only a sneak peak at what she'll ultimately carry.

Sam is definitely a buck to watch, and so far we're very pleased with the udders that he's throwing to his daughters. We look forward to many more years with our "singing boy." (We don't know how the neighbors feel about that!:)
