Wonder is very special here at Hames & Axle Farm. She was the first doe born to us, with well-respected bloodlines, and lots of potential. First, we were afraid to show her. Then we couldn't because of an unfortunate incident that left her with half an udder. She developed gangrene mastitis and sloughed the other side off. Nevertheless, she is a wonderful producer, both of milk and of kids, but she has never given us a doeling. Her son, Asa, was our pride and joy, and his spirit lives on in Peanut and Sam.

Wonder did it! She gave us a little girl. Thanks Wonder! I am constantly amazed at the volume of milk this girl can produce out of half an udder. We were going to retire her, but after seeing how she did on a shortened test, we're going to see what she can with a whole lactation to show off.

2006 - Okay, so I'm fickle. Wonder looks so lonely out there, we've decided to breed her. Last year she went back to her twin buck delivery, so we've told her "If you're going to get bred, you have to promise at least one girl!" She agreed, we think. Wonder will be bred to Timnah. We can't wait to see who comes from this breeding. We're very pleased with Timnah's daughters, and we've never had one out of Tom Thumb daughter. Go Wonder!
