Our Herd

We
were blessed to purchase our first Nigerian dwarf goats, Onyx & Surprize, from Rosasharn Farm. Little did
we know what we'd get ourselves into. Our herd has come a long way since then,
but we've consistently focused on We've been on milk test since 2001, and proudly say that as of now, approximately half of our herd has earned their AGS milking star, many of them as first fresheners. Our breeding program is based on expanding our genetics while developing a correct, friendly, milking doe. Our choices in new stock have been judicious, looking at milk production, genetics and personality, so that we have developed a predictable, healthy line of productive that goats that are signature Hames & Axle Farm. We've achieved some success in the show ring, with MCH Hames & Axle Gaugin 'E' 91.3, and several Reserve Grand champion wins throughout the years. We don't show often, for biosecurity reasons, but we consistently place near the top of the class. That's saying a lot in this highly competitive New England ND region. You can learn more about how we built the herd at our Lineage page. |
