Asa was well loved. Though he never was shown due to to stubborn scurs, he will leave his imprint here through his sons, Sam and Peanut. The only son Silly Professor to make it to the gene pool, he brought style, angularity and panache. The only son of Wonder to make it to the gene pool either, he brought her strength of bone, width of barrel, and sweet demeanor. The fact that he was line bred on Tom Thumb was just a bonus.
During the awful winter of 2002, Asa contracted pneumonia. As a result, he perished from a blood clot on his last day of treatment. We were mortified! Never to see that sweet face again was nearly too much for us to bear. Thankfully God saw fit to give us Sam, who is his Daddy through and through. Peanut (aka Event Horizon) also has his daddy's face and fine bones, but has more of his mother's standoffish personality. He is now at Capri-copia Farm in Virginia carrying his sire's legacy there.
We will always miss this boy, who was the first step in defining "our line." Though he won't be with us physically, he'll always be in our hearts, and in the bodies of all his descendants.
