Update
Posted by Farm at November 26th, 2006
Well, we’re still working on the podcasts, though they will now be called “A Farmer’s Voice.” I’m hoping these will be ready this week, as they are very important.
On the farm, we’re happy to report that Cassie and Orion have found a new home with a family in the next town. They will stay together, and be loved by a family that is just starting with goats and want to to build a milking herd. Cassie was bred today by Mesa, so they are off to a good start.
Speaking of breeding, we are thrilled to announce that our Jobi Fern has been bred to Hames & Axle’s Little John. We won’t have any babies for sale this year, as our farm and our partners have first dibs. However, we anticipate many years of Fern off spring from Hames & Axle. Fern’s dam is Jobi Fanci, an amazing milker, and her sire is Rosasharn Poco, out of our mentor’s herd, Rosasharn Farm. This little girl has Rosasharn style and we’re sure hoping that the Jobi milking will follow that long tradition. April can’t come too soon for us.
NDGenes is due for some updates. We’ve been working hard on the farm with the good weather, but we haven’t forgotten the genepool database that we’ve worked so hard on.
Hope Thanksgiving was pleasant for everyone. It’s hard to believe that 2007 is just around the corner.
Off to milk, Pat
