Though I knew we started a new batch of kiddings soon, I didn’t expect to miss it! I came home today from a feed run to find Touch OFrost had kidded in the main pen - with 4 girls! They are beautiful and strong, though one of them did give me a good scare last night. She’s tiny, less than 2.5#, but she’s got that “goatmule’ streak, where no one’s going to tell her what to do! Didn’t know if she’d make it through the night because I felt like I was drowning her trying to get her to nurse. Frost’s teats are so big I didn’t think MightyMite would be able to get them in her mouth. But this morning she’s the only one up, looking around for someone to play with!
Frost is a little doe machine. Last year it was 3 daughters. The year before that a doe with two bucks. Touch O Silver, now owned by MerriFields Farm, was going to be my Frost daughter that stayed. But she’s doing great as a mom up there, so one of these girls will just have to stay here! now, which one?
