Funny how things go around in circles.  14 years ago today we were waiting for our first kids of our new farm to be born. Rosasharn’s Black Onyx had been purchased as a bred doe, and March 20 was the day she was due.

Well, Onyx is at the Rainbow Bridge now, but her legacy lives on. Today we waited for Jobi Fern to deliver her kids.
Fern has always had twins, a boy and a girl. This year’s kids were extra important because with the loss of Rebel, we had no
Hames & Axle kids in the breeding line up with her genetics. Well this year she gave us an extra surprise - 3 doelings!

The sire is Merging Lanes, Rebel’s dad, so these are full sisters. Because of their birthday being the Vernal Equinox,
just like Wonder and Vern, these girls are named after signs of Spring.  It’s a beautiful warm spring day here, unusual for
March 20, so it’s easy to see the signs coming; as the willows burst, the robins return and the equinox brings it all. So the girls are called Willow, Robin and Equinox. They are beautiful, dairy and carry a strong combination of the nation’s best milking traditions.

Can’t wait to see them grow up. And now we wait for Saxony!
